Biography

Leigh Head is based in the St Albans and London offices and undertakes the full range of corporate commercial legal work in wide range of sectors. Leigh is predominantly involved in general corporate and M&A work, including Private Equity transactions, banking, financial and corporate restructuring whilst retaining a number of music and media industry clients including Graphite Media Limited, Bestival and Camp Bestival; acting for plc's and privately owned SME businesses including household names in the world of franchising such as Winkworth Estate Agents, Headmasters and multiple unit franchisees within the Monkey Puzzle systems. Recent transactions include: acting for the founders of Foreign Currency Exchange Limited in the sale of the entire issued share capital to Inflexion Private Equity Fund; continuing to act for Cambria Automobiles PLC, including acting on the acquisition and disposal of various Jaguar Land Rover Dealerships throughout the year; acting on the sale of a financial advisory business to Old Mutual Wealth Client Advisors Limited; acting for Bestival in concluding negotiations with Red Bull for live streaming rights for the festival; and continuing to act for Winkworth Franchising Limited across all corporate and commercial aspects of their franchise network. Chambers UK 2018 says: '"Very good lawyer" Leigh Head is well regarded for his work in M&A, corporate restructuring and private equity matters. His practice has a particular focus on the music and media industries.' Leigh has been with Sherrards since 2004 and was promoted to Partner in 2008. He trained and worked at a boutique commercial firm in the City. Outside of work Leigh is a keen runner, completing the 2012 London Marathon in under three hours.
